Official visit by the President of Mexico
The President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, will pay an official visit to the Netherlands on Tuesday 24 April. He will be accompanied by his spouse, Angélica Rivera de Peña. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen and broaden political ties and expand economic cooperation in the energy & offshore, maritime, water, agri-food and infrastructure sectors.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will receive President Peña Nieto at a welcome ceremony at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. This will be followed by an audience. The King and Queen will also host a lunch at which the King and the President will both give speeches.
In the evening, prime minister Mark Rutte will host a working dinner for President Peña Nieto at the Catshuis, his official residence. The Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Eric Wiebes, and the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, will also attend the dinner.
On the morning of his arrival the President will visit the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW).
