Marriages
Prince William’s first wife, Anna of Egmond, Countess of Buren (1533-1558), brought important landholdings in Holland and Zeeland into the marriage.
After her death, William married Anna of Saxony (1544-1577) in 1561. This marriage was annulled ten years later in 1571.
In 1575 he married Charlotte de Bourbon, who died in 1582.
His last wife was Louise de Coligny (1555-1620), daughter of the leader of the French Protestants, who was assassinated in 1572. William of Orange fathered 15 children.
